As a general care tip, your jewelry should be the last thing you put on and the first thing you remove at the end of the day.
When you’re not wearing your jewellery, keep it in a cool, dark place, away from sunlight and moisture that can accelerate tarnishing.
Remove your jewellery when using chemicals or during activities such as swimming
Put your jewellery on after applying hair and body products.
Protect your silver jewellery by wiping it off with a polishing cloth or other soft material, like a microfiber cloth, before storing it. Oils from your skin, perfumes, lotions, hair products and other substances cause silver jewellery to tarnish.
Store your pieces separately; this helps prevent chances of scratches and tangling with each other.
Cleaning Your Silver Jewellery
We recommend you clean your pieces on a regular basis with warm water and mild dish soap, rinse, dry well and store them dry in a cool dark place away from moisture.
If you see signs of oxidation on the silver, this can be removed with a silver polishing cloth. (If you choose to use a liquid cleaner - make sure to only apply to silver as it can damage enamel, stones and other elements that are incorporated with the silver).
- Cleaning Method Using Baking Soda
Cleaning heavily tarnished jewellery you can use aluminum foil to get rid of the dark spots.
Simply place a square of aluminum foil in the bottom of a bowl and put the silver jewellery on top of the foil.
Pour hot water (not boiling) over the jewellery, and then add a couple tablespoons of baking soda to the water. Making sure to move around to dissolve the baking soda.
Let the silver jewellery soak for about 20 - 30 minutes. Rinse the jewellery well with warm water and dry it fully with a soft towel.
This makes the tarnish disappear and restores the shine.
- Enamel + Silver Jewellery Care
Enamel jewellery is created by the fusion of glass powder at very high temperatures with the metal surface. Like any fine glass piece, enamel jewellery is beautiful, yet fragile. It needs proper care to maintain its beauty.
Place jewellery on a soft cloth and wrap it up before and after you wear it.
Store your pieces separately; this helps prevent chances of scratches and tangling with each other.
Keep enamel away from chemicals, perfume, body creams, ultrasonic, and liquid jewellery cleaners.
Remove dust and fingerprints from the enamelled surface with a microfiber cloth.
(Use a silver polishing cloth to brighten and remove normal silver tarnishing from any silver elements.)
For extra dirt, use warm water, mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush to clean. Rinse and dry with a soft cloth.
